looking back

14 July 201015 July 2010 ~ Narinda

the past
begins to seem
like some wonderful dream,

terribly distant
and inviting.

there is no going back,
no use staring
at the old reality

it only stares back,
challenging:

I dare you–
make tomorrow
better than me.

I live and make pottery on Chochenyo and Karkin Ohlone land. If you live there, too, please consider joining me in paying the Shuumi Land Tax.
