Drifting now forever

28 October 201029 October 2010 ~ Narinda

Some of us are meant to be wanderers

to roam through cities, tracking dirt
from one neighborhood to another
carrying it in the grooves of our soles

our roots dangle in the clouds, perhaps
but they can still drink and breathe
out there.

I live and make pottery on Chochenyo and Karkin Ohlone land. If you live there, too, please consider joining me in paying the Shuumi Land Tax.

If you live elsewhere, please consider spending some time searching out the indigenous organizations nearest you (and the places you love) to support.
