her little tv
sits in her
little room
with her little bed
and her little chair
a window to the world
that sits worlds away
from these streets
stained with streams
of urine, feces, vomit
i cannot begrudge
the need to have
that little box
in her little room
to drown out the sound
of this neighborhood.
