Sifting through the
Aquarian Book Shop collection
touching the remnants of
years of spiritual study,
diaries, photos, pamphlets,
newsletters, books,
postcards from distant places,
scholarly correspondence,
barely legible scrawls
on the backs of dining car menu cards

what will be left of us
when we are gone?

what will future generations
think of our digital mayhem
links and webpages and spreadsheets
and email and letters?

I wonder whether
someone, fifty years from now,
clicking and scrolling
will feel the same reverence
brushing against the
dust and must of these
bits and pieces

I wonder what history
will feel like
for my great grandchildren.
