than a bathing suit, a worn white t-shirt,
my mother’s old watch, a beat-up car,
a map, a blue sky, and clear highways,
an ocean to my left and mountains to my right,
yes, there is more to seek than
unfamiliar cities, birds i’ve never seen,
earth i haven’t touched and trees i haven’t climbed
but today, with love tucked into every pocket,
i look no further than the next mile
tomorrow will arrive soon enough;
there is no need to rush.
