she waits impatiently
cries insistently for entry
and upon arrival
stalks about
waiting for affection
there are nights
when i am just too tired
or not in the mood
and within a few
minutes of sensing
she won’t be getting any
she scratches at the door
asking to be let out again.
some beings just don’t
know how to stick around
i might have pet her
if she had just given me
a minute to settle in.
