so it begins

spring is so distracting

gaping maws of pink and purple snapdragons
fluttering silken poppy petals
softly raucous yellow sorrel blossoms
tangles of sun-drenched nasturtiums

i feel lucky to have not
crashed into anything while gawking

but the season is still young, yet
with more long, bright days on the way
and many chances to trip and stumble
for long moments with sweetness.

One thought on “so it begins

  1. ‘but the season is still young, yet’
spring simply breathes youth, and fresh, and newness, don’t you think?
    This is wonderfully uplifting.
