the older i get
the more i wonder
whether all the
dreams of spectacular things
only got in the way
the most spectacular things
i’ve been able to do
have come from standing
with my feet firmly
on the ground
and my arms
around those i love
i grew up thinking
that freedom meant
letting go
when so much of it
depends on
knowing how
to hold on.
