I began making pottery in 2014 as an exploration of studio art and craft, something I’d never been done before. The material that was most accessible to me growing up was words; ink, paper, thoughts. Things that can be tucked away, things that don’t take up much literal space.
I make objects to be used in daily life, for plants to grow in, for the sole purpose of beauty. They require a place to be.
They necessitate me staying in a certain place, for a certain time. They are a cooperative effort between my hands and earth and fire.
I am in love with it.
