Yes, I did this–
I opened a door
thinking, foolishly, that
you would not walk through it,
you would not know how,
you would not want to.
Inexplicably,
you stepped through and
words have been spoken,
embraces traded,
all of them real enough to be felt,
not to be true.
Now I find myself a fool,
having forgotten what happens
when one gives an inch.
i think doors are best left open.
u express the feeling so well w/ the simplicity of this piece… its great! u got this craft down locked-
I felt the ending, question is, why do we convince ourselves that we aren’t fools by nature?
i’m about ready to change the locks on my door.
Unsurprisingly…
Your poetry is so lilting.! Thank you.
